Those were the days my friend.....
Been feeling a little nostalgic these days... Think it's becos of all the reunions and weddings i've been having lately :-)
Just one day after attending a RGS '93 reunion @ May's house on New Year's Day (where we even got to meet our old Primary School teachers! Gosh!), it was FX + SY's wedding. Wow, never met so many old friends at one go in 2 consecutive days! At FX's wedding dinner, i got to re-establish friendships with Pauline, Zhaoen, Muipong - friends whom i'd almost lost touch with since leaving PLCMC and with whom i'd spent the better part of my teenage years in school... :-)
Then, one of my good friends from VJC got married today. Andy married his sweetheart of 7 years in Cornerstone Community Church, a place which holds some dear memories to me as well... When i stepped in, i remembered how as a young girl seeking to be closer to her Lord i one day decided to follow Andy & Danny to their church and boy, was i blown away by some of their most anointed worship sessions. Following which, i also had the honour of attending their cell group in May's and Daphne's homes and enjoying the fellowship and prayer of Karen and her friends... When Karen attended my wedding in 2002, she'd just given birth to her baby daughter. Now, her daughter is almost 4 years old! How time flies!!!
At Andy's wedding, like @ FX's wedding, i saw/met many pp that i'd known eons ago... People like Kelly and Big Andy (reminding me of the Ultimate sessions that i used to attend with Hung + Andy back when i wasn't pregnant yet), Pastor Young, and even Andy's brother and sister who are now soo tall!!! Seeing his sister reminded me of those times during JC days when all of us from VJC campus Crusade would troop to Andy's house after school to watch LDs and eat and pig out... and Steven and Danny and i would do stupid things in his house... Back then, his sister was a cute and plump li'l kid who kept asking me to play 'stickers' with her. Now, she is this tall gorgeous young woman 1.5 heads taller than me! Gosh!
i also bumped into Wendy Tan at the wedding. The last time we met in person was at her house in 2004, when i was just a few weeks pregnant. Now she is pregnant again with no. 2! Naturally, our conversations steered towards things about parenthood and babies etc. But we also talked about our JC days (she had transferred from VJ to RJ and i did the opposite) and that brought back alot of memories too... sigh.....
i don't know why all this has brought a sudden huge wave of nostalgia over me... it's quite overwhelming actually. And to make it even worse, i recently reconnected with a long lost cousin of mine who is now in Hollywood shooting movies and every time i go into his blog or talk with him over email, i get alot of nostalgic feelings about the past when we used to play together as kids in our grandma's house...aarrgghh!!!
